"Painting is the art of communicating by using raw materials such as line, tone and color just as the notes of music are for the composer or the words for the writer."

Artistic Approach

The explosion of art, the vast knowledge and the remarkable impact on humanity provided by the great masters of 19th century are the thriving forces that pushes this artist toward excellence. She is inspired by the art that enhances the beauty such as it is found in the works Ivan Chickkine and our contemporary Joseph McGurl.

The rich visual nature of Quebec offers a multitude of still unexplored facets. Her on-site sketches in oil and graphite, and photographs are her references when creating her artworks. In addition, as a respect for tradition, his works are painted on mounted linen to ensure the quality and durability of the media.

"Painting the beauty of nature for, in turn, giving it to other is an approach that leads me to an opening of consciousness of my inter-relationship with all of life."

Born in 1962 in Victoriaville, Marie-Hélène completed her training in 2004 during an intensive four years at Mission Renaissance, a private school of fine arts. Quickly, she combines her training to the teaching of drawing and painting in oil which allows her to transmit her knowledge and improve her artistic skills. After six years of teaching, she decides to devote herself entirely to her art.

In the past, various renowned galleries have exhibited her still lifes and genre paintings. Today, the artist, in love with the landscape, exhibites her work at Galerie Vanasse.
